Benjamin Ferguson (politician)
Benjamin Ferguson (February 14, 1820 – ?) was an American politician and farmer from Fox Lake, Wisconsin, who served a single two-year term (1860–61) as a Democratic member of the Wisconsin State Senate from the 22nd District.〔(''Members of the Wisconsin Legislature, 1848-1999'' Madison: State of Wisconsin Legislative Reference Bureau, 1999; p. 6 )〕 He was succeeded by Thomas R. Hudd.
==Background==
Born in Penobscot, Maine, Ferguson moved to Fox Lake, Wisconsin Territory in 1844 and was a farmer. In 1852, Ferguson was elected sheriff of Dodge County, Wisconsin and also served on the Dodge County Board of Supervisors.〔'The History of Dodge County, Wisconsin,' Western Historical Company: 1880, Biographical Sketch of Benjamin Ferguson, pg. 701〕
